Last week I detailed my revision plan for this crazy November writing challenge thing (NaNoWriMo, obvi). As always, I am so glad not to be in this alone! Not only do I have my amazing LadyNerds striving alongside me, but there’s also huge number fellow NaNoWriMo-ers on twitter, Facebook, and even Instagram! I’m proud to be a part of such a brave creative community.
Week One is DOWN (and I’m still alive)
Okay, so I don’t know what’s up with me being sick during NaNoWriMo, but this makes three years in a row. And before you go off thinking I’m some kind of plague-bearing wastrel, I hardly ever get sick. Really. Except in November. It’s delightful. (No, not really). I spent most of the first week hopped up on cold medicine and just trying to scrape myself through the work day. I’m only a few days behind on my revision schedule, though, so that’s something.
I can do this! I was mildly (moderately? very?) concerned about whether my revision schedule was accomplishable, but if I can *almost* keep up with it while sick and miserable, then I can definitely do it healthy. Right? Right. I’m determined to be encouraged–rather than discouraged–by my rough first week. I’m going to CRUSH the rest of the month! Or, you know, eke it out with tears and sweat and many rambling conversations with my cats.
Getting Pumped for Week Two
Let’s do this thing! Headphones on, game face on, fight on, write on.
Also, Dean Winchester. For reasons.
Alright, LadyNerders and fellow NaNoWriMo-ers, your turn! How was your first week? Did you hit your goals? Knock them out of the park? Fall a little short? A lot? Let me know by leaving a comment below. You guys rock!
